Webscript's Nominated Charities

The Swift Youth Group

The Swift Youth Group is the umbrella name for the various activities and groups that use the facilities at The Swift Centre in east London for youth work.

Every Friday evening young people from the local area meet in the Swift Centre which always guarantees a vibrant, diverse and friendly atmosphere. The evening is hosted by a group of dedicated, experienced volunteers who organise and supervise the activities which include football, table tennis, dance and drama.

As well as the weekly gathering the Swift Youth Group also run a selection projects for the young people; ranging from leadership classes, to an annual summer camp, to a 6 week long, 1900 mile sponsored cycling expedition through Europe.

Our senior designer, Dan, was the project leader of the 1900 mile bike ride - known as Bike Europe - and his team completed the epic journey in good time raising nearly £7,000 for the Swift in the process.

Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA)

We were more than happy to respond to a request from a friend and former colleague for help in raising awareness of his forthcoming trek to Mera Peak, the highest trekking peak in Nepal.

Lee Henderson and his friend Brian Anderson will be making the trek in April 2008 to raise vital funds for The Motor Neurone Disease Association a charity close to Lee's heart, Lee's father sadly died from this disease.

Webscript's Sponsorship

Plan Sponsor a Child Campaign

All of the staff at Webscript have joined together to donate to the Sponsor a Child scheme organised by Plan UK. Donating though the payroll ‘give as you earn scheme’ so no PAYE or NI is paid on the money donated. Passing this saving on to the charity has enabled the staff here to sponsor a second child and with their contribution being matched by the company we now have four young additions to Webscript!

The four children, two boys and two girls, all live with their separate families in a small community in Sri Lanka and all of us look forward to getting to know and understand more about them and their lives over the years to come.

Chris Scragg Racing

Chris has been racing Aston Martins since 2005 and we are proud to have been involved with the team from day 1. Having sold off Marston Hotels for the shareholders in 2006 Chris had expanded his racing to include the Aston Martin Owners Club, Historic Sports Car Club Historic Motor Racing and the Masters Racing Series.

The team now runs an Aston Martin Vantage V8, Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, Jaguar E-Type, Jaguar MkII and an MGB V8.

Clients, staff and friends of Webscript are frequent visitors to watch Chris compete in and with some of the most beautiful racing cars in the world doing what they were built to do.
